The Orb was an experiment in shape and color. Interested in the accounts of orbs appearing and disappearing, and people’s interpretation of that phenomenon, I wanted to see how steel and aluminum would reflect and change in the light. This piece does just that, changing dramatically with the angle and the direction of sunlight.
The Orb is an original, wall-hanging sculpture incorporating transparent dyes and aluminum as the background, with the orb done in steel and offset by 1/2 inch spacers. Year completed: 2013.
