About the Artist
Born in 1967, Gary West Jr., better known as “Begee”, is a self-taught artist. Working as a professional artist since 1998, he has been commissioned for major architectural installations and public sculpture. Working mostly in steel and bronze, he has an extensive background in fabrication and design. Many of his private commissions have encompassed unique and complicated requests.
Born and raised in Oregon, he has always been an outdoorsman and a hands-on kind of person. He and his family live in a beautiful rural community where they raise chickens, garden and ride horses. His studio is located on their small farm in Lake Creek, Oregon, where he is inspired by the beauty in which they live. While he has completed many private commissions, Begee is currently focused on building a body of work that is available to view and purchase in his online Art Gallery.
